Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has launched a ₦400 million bursary, scholarship and financial assistance programme for 13,360 students of Ondo origin across Nigerian tertiary institutions.
The beneficiaries include 11,907 bursary recipients, 614 scholarship students, 500 clinical medical students, 239 Law School candidates and 100 physically challenged students.
Speaking at the launch in Akure, Aiyedatiwa highlighted the scheme as part of his “OUR EASE” agenda.
The governor, who spoke through the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, stated that the gesture is part of investments in 500 basic schools and the provision of digital tablets for 50 public secondary schools.
According to him, the governor also released ₦633.9 million to cover 2026 WASSCE fees for public school students and approved the new federal salary structure and increased subventions for state tertiary institutions.
