Security operatives on Monday surrounded the Kano State Government House over the planned defection by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to the All Progressives Congress APC in the State.
There was the heavy presence of combined team of security personnel drawn from the Nigeria Police Force , the Department of State Services (DSS) and NSCDC at the main entrance of the Government House.
Although the planned decamping has not been officially confirmed, the governor is widely believed to be considering a move to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Our correspondent observed that at least seven Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) belonging to the police and the DSS were stationed at strategic points, including the main gate, and the roundabout leading to the Government House.
Security checks were also intensified, with access to the Government House subjected to strict identification procedures by security operatives.
