There was wailing in Onitsha on Sunday as the corpse of Mr ABK Offiah, an aide to Anambra commissioner for Youths Development, who was killed on his way to Abuja on Aug.16 returned to Onitsha.
The Commissioner, Mr Patrick Aghamba and his wife (who had already regained freedom) were kidnapped in Kogi state highway, while traveling to Abuja on Friday.
The aide identified as ABK Offiah was not as as lucky as the kidnappers shot him dead.
The corpse of Offiah, a lawyer from Onitsha, who holds the traditional title of Kpajiego, returned on Sunday, elicited wailing from indigenes.
The victim was also said to be a youth leader.
A video on social media showed the moment an ambulance arrived Onitsha with Offiah’s corpse, leaving everyone devastated.
Meanwhile, Aghamba and his wife were Saturday night released by the kidnappers.
Mr Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to Gov. Chukwuma Soludo had confirmed that the duo had been released by their adaptors with no ransom paid.
