The nation was on Wednesday plunged into yet another round of excruciating darkness as the National grid has again collapsed.
Today’s collapsed makes the 12th that the national grid is collapsing from January to November 2024.
A tweet from the official handle of Nigeria’s National Grid confirmed the grid collapse which was said to have occurred about 2:09 pm on Wednesday.
“The major grid setback has occurred and the restoration is to commence,” the handler wrote.
In the October, the National Grid collapsed three times thereby plunging the nation into darkness.
The grid collapsed for the first time on February 4, which was followed by another collapse on March 28.
Other incidents of grid collapses occurred on April 15, July 6, August 5, October 14, October 15, October 19, October 22, November 5, November 7 and December 11.
Nigerians who bear the brunt of the frequent power grid collapse in their reactions are calling for an immediate overhaul of the national grid.
