The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), on Thursday threatened to embark on nationwide strike action, should federal government fail to address issues in contention.
The Labour Centre has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to immediately remit back the allegedly diverted workers’ funds from the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) and immediately constitute the Governing Board of the National Pension Commission (PENCOM).
They insisted that failure to do so, will result to a nationwide industrial action.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the NLC Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting held in Abuja, the union also announced dissolution of the Edo State leadership of NLC.
The meeting, presided over by NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, deliberated extensively on issues affecting Nigerian workers, the trade union movement, and the nation at large.
