The family of Miss Eunice Ameh, a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and a lawyer, has raised alarm over her sudden disappearance in Abuja after she failed to return home from work.

Ameh, who is serving in the Federal Capital Territory, was last seen on Wednesday we evening after leaving her workplace in the Maitama area of Abuja.

Family sources said she recently secured employment as a Sales Manager at Blades and Butchers Ltd., a company that deals in livestock and other related products, located on Lake Chad Crescent, Maitama. According to the family, she had resumed work at the company barely two weeks before she went missing.

“She is the Sales Manager for the company and she just started two weeks ago. She was meant to partake in her last Community Development Service (CDS) as a corps member yesterday (Thursday) and would officially pass out soon afterwards,” said a family source.

The source said Ameh was last seen around 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, while heading home after work.

“She was on her way home, after leaving the office and going towards the junction leading to Life Camp,” the source added.

Concern over her whereabouts reportedly grew after repeated attempts to reach her through her mobile phones proved unsuccessful, as all her lines were switched off.

According to the family, friends and relatives became worried after they could not contact her throughout Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

“Around 11 a.m. on Thursday, one of her friends alerted the family that Eunice had not returned from work the previous evening, and repeated attempts to reach her had been unsuccessful,” the source disclosed.

Ameh reportedly lives in a corpers’ lodge in the Life Camp area of Abuja, where fellow corps members and residents have also expressed concern over her disappearance.

Sources close to the family said the NYSC authorities had been informed, while the matter was also reported to the Maitama Division of the Nigeria Police Force after her employers formally lodged a complaint.

Family members described the development as traumatic and said they were deeply worried about her safety.

“The family is distraught and in panic while they are hanging on to hopes of a police investigation getting her whereabouts,” the source said.

As of the time this report was filed, no individual or group had contacted the family to demand ransom or make any request linked to her disappearance.

“All her mobile phones are switched off and no one has reached out for ransom or to make any demands as of the time of this report,” the source added.

Security agencies were said to be making efforts to trace her whereabouts.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Josephine Adeh, had yet to comment on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
