Osun PDP Suspends Former Chief of Staff Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities

Joy Yesufu, Abuja

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has suspended Peter Adebayo Babalola, the former Chief of Staff to Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, for alleged anti-party activities.

Babalola served as Chief of Staff during Oyinlola’s administration and was appointed Chairman of the College of Education, Ila-Orangun, by Governor Ademola Adeleke in 2023.

The suspension, effective August 27, 2024, was perfected by 17 party executives from Ward 7 in the Irewole local government area, led by Odelade Adesoye.

The executives cited Babalola’s “various anti-party activities over the past two years” and noted that he had not attended any ward or local government meetings during this period.

The letter of suspension indicates that Babalola is henceforth removed from his membership in PDP Ward 7, Irewole local government.

This development highlights ongoing challenges within the PDP as the party seeks to maintain internal cohesion and integrity among its members.
