The Delta State Police Command has arrested suspected armed robbers and recovered a stolen vehicle in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, on Wednesday.
According to him, the suspects were arrested while allegedly attempting to sell a Hijet minibus with registration number BEN-485-XH for ₦300,000 without producing its documents.
The PPRO identified the suspects as Agbaja Promise, 20; Emmanuel Ovieh, 25; and Odiri Dama, 25. They were arrested on September 19, 2026, by operatives of the Agbor Police Division acting on credible intelligence.
He maintained that the vehicle was recovered, while its rightful owner was subsequently identified and contacted.
Edafe further disclosed that operatives of the Ekpan Division, following a distress call, arrested one Meshach Onovoisa, 23, for allegedly threatening people around the Scrap Yard axis of Effurun/Sapele Road.
“One locally made single-barrelled gun was recovered from him and, during interrogation, the suspect admitted to being an armed robber.
“Investigation is ongoing to arrest other members of the gang, while the suspects will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation,” the PPRO said.
