The Ogun State Police Command has recovered a Lexus RX300 belonging to former Ogun State Television broadcaster, Kitan Oyesiku, days after she and her security guard were found dead at her residence in Iyana Agodo Village, Owode-Egba.
The recovery was announced on Monday as the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, visited the crime scene to assess the progress of ongoing investigations into the killings.
According to the command’s spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, the police chief inspected the premises and received updates from detectives handling the case.
“Further to the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of retired broadcaster, Ms. Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, today visited the scene of the incident for an on-the-spot assessment and to personally evaluate the progress of ongoing investigative efforts,” the statement said.
The police said the vehicle, which was earlier reported missing after the incident, was recovered during a night operation and has been secured as part of the investigation.
“It is worthy of note that the vehicle earlier reported missing from the residence, a Lexus RX300, has been recovered by police operatives during the night hours,” Babaseyi stated.
Ojajuni reiterated the command’s determination to uncover the circumstances surrounding the deaths and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
“CP Ojajuni reiterated the Command’s resolve to leave no stone unturned in unraveling the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensuring that those responsible are identified, apprehended, and brought to justice,” the spokesperson added.
The commissioner also sympathised with the family of the deceased and assured residents that all available resources were being deployed to track down the perpetrators.
Oyesiku and her security guard were found dead at her residence after police responded to reports of suspicious activity in the area. Preliminary investigations revealed signs of forced entry into the property. The security guard was discovered dead at his duty post, while the retired broadcaster’s body was later found inside the house.
