Former Governor of Zamfara State and Senator representing Zamfara West in the red chambers, Senator Abdullaziz Abubakar Yari, has expressed deep concern over the intrusion of his business concerns by hackers and fraudsters.

The former governor, speaking to through a corporate consulting firm, Meridian Network Communications, said that hackers and fraudsters had had unauthorized access into bank transactions of Hamags Solutions, a limited liability company in which he has substantial stake.
He said that although the unethical development had been taken up by the affected financial institution, Hamags Solutions described the illegal act as the latest manifestation of the actions of deviants and blackmailers who are out to discredit the company and its chairman, Senator Yari.
In a statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Ishmael Lere and made available to this medium, Meridian Communications said that the intrusion was part of orchestrated campaign of calumny and denigration targeted at Senator Abubakar Yari’s business concerns.
He attributed the actions of the fraudsters to a coordinated pattern of de-marketing strategies aimed at tarnishing the corporate image of Hamags Solutions.
It also emphasized that Hamags is a corporate solutions and trading company which operates under the ambit of the law and adheres strictly to the fine tenets of good corporate governance.
The firm also drew attention to a recent fictitious forensic investigation involving Hamags which a faceless youth group claimed that Senator Yari uses to engage in financial crimes, including money laundering, terror financing and unlicensed foreign exchange trading.
Part of the statement reads:
“Following a series of sponsored lies and fabrications being dished out in the media by persons who have an axe to grind with Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari and his business concerns, we are constrained to issue this statement in order to debunk the tissue of lies and set the records straight.
“Homage Solutions is a limited liability company duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as a corporate solutions and trading entity. It operates genuinely and transparently under the ambit of the law and in compliance with the rules of good corporate governance.
“However, those who are bent on giving Senator Yari and his businesses a bad name have been accusing Hamags Solutions of being a conduit for illegal business transactions such as money laundering, terror financing and unlicensed foreign exchange trading.
“In furtherance to the desperation by these individuals to tarnish the corporate image of Hamags, the company’s bank statement was recently hacked into.
“Although appropriate legal remedies are being sought in association with the affected financial institution with a view to getting to the root of the infraction, the unethical action is raising questions about the safety and sanctity of the operations of Hamags Solutions.
“We wish to therefore draw the attention of the general public to this smear campaign directed at Hamags Solutions and state without fear of contradiction that the fabrications and trespasses are aimed at weakening public confidence in Hamags Solutions and creating an unhealthy atmosphere that could lead to a distrust for its chief promoter, Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari.
“The general public is therefore enjoined to disregard these acts of blackmail. Hamags Solutions and its chief promoter, Senator Yari, remain committed to good corporate governance, transparency and accountability in the company’s operations,” the statement concluded.
