Sowore: I Won’t Retract My Comments on Tinubu, Even Till 2027

Joy Yesufu, Abuja

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has vowed not to withdraw his criticisms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, insisting that he will continue to speak out against what he described as failures of governance.

Sowore, in a post shared on his verified social media handle, said no amount of time or political pressure would compel him to retract his statements, stressing that his position on Tinubu’s administration remains unchanged.

“Even if they give me from now till 2027, I will never retract my comments about Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Sowore declared.

The Sahara Reporters publisher has been one of the fiercest critics of the current administration, frequently accusing the president of lacking the capacity to deliver on promises of economic recovery, national security, and good governance.

Sowore’s latest remarks came amid rising political tension and heightened scrutiny of the government’s performance as Nigeria prepares for future elections.

His statement is expected to further ignite debates among supporters and critics of the president, as well as within the opposition camp.
