President Bola Tinubu has arrived the Umaru Yar’Adua AirPort, Katsina to receive the remains of his predecessor, the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

The President leads a list of high-profile political, security and traditional leaders have converged on Daura, Katsina State, ahead of the burial of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, whose body is expected to arrive in the country from London.
Among the dignitaries present at the former president’s residence are the wife of the President, Oluremi Tinubu, former Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; former Borno State Governor, Ali Modu Sheriff; former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello; former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari; and former Zamfara State Governor, Abdul’aziz Yari.
Also in attendance are the former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami; the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruk; and several sons of the late business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.
The late president’s residence in Daura has witnessed a steady stream of sympathizers and political associates paying their respects as preparations for his interment continue.
Further details regarding the burial schedule are expected to be announced by the family and relevant authorities upon the arrival of the remains.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari died in a London Hospital on July 23, 2025.
