Egbetokun had during a meeting with leaders of the groups appealed to them not to go to the streets as mischief makers may be planning to hijack their movement.
The IGP held a zoom meeting between human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, (SAN) and Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, the lawyer representing the Take-It-Back Movement.
The meeting held following a letter from Adegboruwa on behalf of the Take-It-Back Movement to the IGP seeking police protection during the protest.
But the IGP said “It is not advisable to go on street processions because as you are planning peaceful protests, some are planning violence.”
Egbetokun had asked the protesters to hold their protest rallies in confined venues because of the high possibility that people with other intentions

The IGP reassured the protesters of the readiness of the police and security agencies to protect the rights of the citizens and ensure safety to them.
He also call we for collaboration between the leaders of the protesters and the respective police commissioners in the states.
