Former Bayelsa State Governor Senator, Henry Seriake Dickson, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Chief Audu Ogbeh, former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and three-time Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In a statement, Dickson described the late Ogbeh as “a decent and broad-minded elder statesman” who was unwavering in his support and counsel to leaders across the country.
“Throughout my tenure as governor and later as a federal legislator, Chief Ogbeh always found time to discuss issues of national importance.
“He encouraged me and shared his perspective on a wide range of matters. Indeed, he lived a life of service,” Dickson said.
The senator, who is a High Chief of the Idoma Kingdom, said he was warmly received by Ogbeh’s wife, children, and other family members during the visit.
He prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest and comfort the family at this time of grief.
According to him, Ogbeh’s passing comes at a period when Nigeria is in dire need of “wise and selfless service and counsel” to navigate national challenges.
Dickson expressed his intention to attend the funeral in Otukpa, Benue State, as a mark of honour to the late statesman.
Chief Audu Ogbeh, who was also a prominent leader in the Idoma Kingdom, died recently after a life dedicated to politics, public service, and agriculture.
