•••Appoints Tunji as Replacement
President Bola Tinubu as appointed Mr Tunji Disu an Assistant Inspector of General of Police as the new Acting Inspector General of Police.
This follows the resignation of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, from office on Tuesday.
The Network gathered that the IGP left the office on Monday only to return to pick a few of his things which raised the curiosity of police personnel.
It was learnt that Egbetokun was asked to resign during a meeting with the President on Monday.
The outgoing IGP was appointed by President Tinubu as the 22nd IGP on 19 June, 2023, and was confirmed by the Nigeria Police Council four months after on 31 October.
The Network gathered that the IGP Egbetokun and his replacement Disu are at the Presidential Villa as at the time of filing this report.
